YENSAN,
JACOBS ENDORSE GILCHREST
CHESTRTOWN -- U.S. Rep Wayne T.
Gilchrest’s campaign picked up endorsements from Rock Hall Mayor Jay Jacobs
and Aberdeen City Council member David Yensan this week, calling both men
excellent pubic servants with whom he has had a productive working
relationship.
“Wayne Gilchrest is a good Republican.
He thinks for himself. He
listens to all his constituents and then makes decisions based on the facts at
hand,” said Yensan. “I am
proud to endorse the candidacy of Congressman Wayne Gilchrest for election to
the Congress of the United States.”
Gilchrest noted that the infrastructure
needs for Aberdeen and Harford County in light of the coming changes from BRAC
are at the forefront of his agenda in Congress for the coming term, and that
his strong working relationship with elected officials in Aberdeen and Harford
County will be critical.
Gilchrest said he was also proud to
receive the endorsement of Jacobs, whose leadership he praised as the two
worked together in the aftermath of Hurricane Isabel in 2003 which devastated
areas of Rock Hall in Kent County.
“I was impressed by Jay’s work ethic
and command of the situation during that crisis, and I believe Jay has a
bright future in Maryland politics,” said Gilchrest.
Gilchrest has previously announced the
endorsement of top Republican officials in his Congressional district,
including Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold and Harford County
Executive David Craig.
