Statement from Congressman Wayne Gilchrest :

 

Now that the results are clear, I wanted you to know how much your support and friendship has meant to Barbara and I during this difficult race.  While not the result we had hoped, we can all be proud that we ran a clean race and served our nation with dignity. 

  I would like to congratulate all of the campaigns and their supporters who worked so hard in this election.  It is a real sacrifice to participate in the political process, and having been through many campaigns, I commend each candidate and their families who made the sacrifice to do so.

  As I ponder my own future, I look forward to continuing to advancing good public policy to protect our environment and to promoting a more productive and peaceful planet. 

  We’re going to take a few days off to rest, then I look forward to being back in touch to make plans to get together and fully express our appreciation and gratitude.  Again, thank you for all of your thoughtfulness and support.
